Blue hippo has bumps

I just noticed that my BHT has these raised bumps on her one side. Can anyone tell what it might be?

Could be ich, but I'm not 100% sure.

I don't believe it is ich cause it is not white and all over. It seems that it is just in that one area and just the skin is bumped up.

Very possible. Is it peeling at all? Like excess mucous hanging off the fish?

That is odd isn't it? Is it actually the skin that has mottled like that or is it something on top of the skin? Can you tell?

It seems like when hippos get stung or get skin lesions or abrasions it looks more like this -- I've wondered if it has anything to do or is anyway related to their propensity to get very bad HLLE.
