Blue spotted puffer

My dad gave me a blue spotted puffer and I just put it in my qt tank with some monti I'm treating... and today I came home from work and it looks to be like he's nipping g at it is this possible

Very possible. Blue spot puffers are intelligent, curious, and adaptable in their diet. Sometimes the nipping is only when first introduced to new coral, sometimes it lasts much longer.
