Download an app called Aquarium Note and keep track of everything you do. Set a schedule for maintaining, cleaning, inspecting, water changes and water quality. Ammonia, Nitrite, nitrate, phosphates, High PH, Calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium. That should get you started.

Good suggestions, I use the Apex monitoring system already, it is spectacular!!

Ok, we will wait till you do your 1st water change with the good salt, then we will need to dose mag.

Right now I'm battling water parameters, I need to get that stabilized, get into a good routine, then start populating the tank with corals, hopefully ;)

Stability and patience as already mentioned is key, I’m 5 years into this hobby and only now I’m successfully keeping SPS corals.
I’ve got a 8gallon nano, keeping mine stable is an absolute nightmare! The smaller the tank, the less ‘easy’ it is to stabilise parameters- don’t let that put you off though! I had many people try put me off going into the hobby.
And here I am today, keeping SPS corals.

All the very best :)- and remember, have fun with it! There was a time that I got so caught up with ‘ideal numbers’ that I drained the enjoyment out of it.

You’ll get there, it takes time; sometimes a lot of heartache and headaches! If you’re planning on keeping fish, don’t learn the hard way like I did. Get a lid for your tank, they jump!; I promise you they jump..... I lost my clownfish of 2 years and a dang sifting goby all through jumping. My tank now has a lid, I took it off to take a picture for you. There’s nothing more heartbreaking than when you see a fish you’ve cared for, watch grow and seen their quirks..... dead on the floor next to the tank.
I’d start on some soft corals first, to gain experience, from there you’ll be able to go onto LPs/SPS corals

How about if we invest in a hannah ULR tester? Salifert will be hard to show very low ranges...

Our no3 range target will be lower than 1 and po4 lower than 0.2 for this year...
