Box Of Crayons

Electrical… yikes.. doing some napkin math like worst case scenario everything is running max is a lot. Might need 2 dedicated 20 amps. Im electronics engineer not power so my thought process may be waaayy off. Any smart electrical folks have some recommendations?

Updated pipes to reduce 45 elbows to use 3 based on your suggestions, this design process is fun!! 😁

Tomorrow ill work on designing the manifold and maybe the valve placement but time might be short with the new baby 😂

looking good!

I’m imagining using the return plumbing itself for your manifolds, adding two (or more) additional outlets to each return line, like so:

Yep that is the plan, T of those return lines! I was thinking only one but good idea to maybe split of both.

I would do 4 more in back 2 high ,2 low, closed loop,uv,etc, better to have them than not...
I haven’t forgotten this… but adding more points of failures worries me, I think about pulling the trigger on these additional holes often 😂😂

I might be super wrong but… i heard that the BRS titanium heaters are sort of grounding probes?
Better safe than sorry for a few bucks... 😉
1 in the sump
1 in the tank...🙂

I'd do 3 dedicated 20A circuits.

Agree 100% on the grounding probes. They sell a three pack of them on Amazon for about $34. Totally worth it.

I got an “inception” idea to make the tank a room divider peninsula but I know peninsula is terrible for flow. Need someone to talk me out of putting in the design as a peninsula.

Controversial… but gemini did a good job of taking my CAD design and fitting the tank into my basement by giving it the dimensions of the wall. It added some random stuff but pretty good…

I don't know that today I would call a peninsula much harder to set up for flow. There is a much better choice of flow pump styles and flow patterns than there used to be. The biggest challenge is that no one likes to put pumps on the end of the tank. If your tank is close to a column like in your concept images there is no reason you cannot have pumps behind the column without losing any of that third pane that your not already losing to the column..

It is harder with a peninsula because you want all three panels clutter free. Even in a standard tank that is difficult and rarely achieved without closed loop pumps.

I think peninsula tanks make great room dividers, I'd say go for it.

Got blessing from wife on peninsula style convinced her with PVC Mockup and the AI pictures. Next step get quote / design through my buddies @Acro76 @CherryCorals and place the order with @Joe Glass Cages !!!

Why is tank build/planing process so exhilarating and fun???

Because you get to figure out exactly what you want!

Plus, many of us simply enjoy designing and building things, regardless of what they may be. Additionally, the feeling of accomplishment that accompanies successfully designing and building things is second to none.
