Hey you guys, so im new here, but not to fish keeping :grinning-face-with-sweat::smiling-face:

Hope you are all having a good day.

I usually browse through old threads when i have a question, but im kind of not sure on how to proceed with my fish this time.... so i figured why not make a account and post my direct questions.

I went fish shopping 2 days ago and picked up 3 new cuties.
The place i got them from does not care for them "super well" due to it being a distribution market where all imports arrive, and then get re-sold to re-sellers....so LOTS of fish pass through those holding tanks with a lot of possible parasites, bacteria, etc. (they aren't in there for long, but they are exposed to alot).

It's a cool place, and they have some REALLY exotic stuff come in that you dont always see in local fish stores, and the prices are great.
Those of us who buy direcly from there, know the risks of possibly buying sick fish.
what resellers do is buy there....treat.....and sell the survivors when healthy for a elevated cost....

Anyway. My point being....i bought these fish knowing they were probably sick.

its a white spotted boxfish, a spotted puffer, and a watchman goby.

i placed them directly into a quarantine tank and not to my display tank.

The spotted puffer looks great so far. The only odd thing is it lies on it's side to "chill" but when i approach the tank it perks up and swims off just fine. The laying on its side is a bit concerning but i know some fish do that and lay on rocks and other tank decor.....except theres none on the qt. Ive seen him eat just fine.

the watchman goby has some missing fin bits, specially on its tail....but it doesnt look like fin rot or any fungus. i believe it was just being bullied by some of the other fish he was kept with. He is eating just fine and is acting "normal" as of now. So nothing too concerning with him.

However....the boxfish appears to have developed ich, which is hard to see because of her natural spots, but her fins have the speckles. I know boxfish are super prone to it so honestly, not surprised. The thing is this morning i noticed she appears to have a look of her "skin peeling off" (specially above one of her eyes)
After browsing online i think it could be Brooklynella....or maybe velvet....not sure.
Shes active, but i havent seen her eat. I did a bath with meth blue this morning and some of the peeled skin look, improved.

i quarantined them together because they were in a shared system anyway.

i started using polylab medic since day 1. ive been dosing the "heavy infestation" dose they reccomend.

however now with the "skin peeling off" look my boxfish has, i dont know what to medicate with.

Plus boxfish and puffers are very sensitive to a lot of meds.

clearly its safe to assume the other 2 fish also have whatever the boxfish has .

Any advice on what it could be and what to do to treat all 3 fish?

These fish normally don’t get brook but rather ich which this fish appears to have
Could use brighter/clearer pics
You will need to prepare a separate treatment tank and treat with coppersafe at 2.25 or aoi general cure which is milder but also has ingredients for brook and add air stone for added oxygen
Monitor ammonia levels during treatment with reliable test kit

Ich on boxfish can look “mucousy”. I’ve not seen Brooklynella on this species, so I’d say this is ich. Coppersafe or copper power at 2.25 ppm would be the best option.
