Have any of y'all ever seen all of your snails have babies all around the same time? Is there a mating season?
My nerites lay eggs. Round white dots maybe 1/8" wide. I think other snails are broadcast spawners... like corals. They release sperm and eggs into the water column and hope the ocean current gods are favorable that night...

My Ceriths are going crazy lately. Babies and eggs every day. I am wondering if it is because the tank is slightly warmer in this heat.
Heat cycle of moon? I think the moon plays a huge role

I really wish I had the capability to program the Nanobox over the Menagerie to follow lunar cycles. Turn on the moon light really low(it gets kinda bright) at moon rise and off at moon set based on my location. I've read several things that say rock flowers spawn on the full moon.

Back on pole power! Generator secured and everything stable. AC working its wrasse off to cool the house. Still feel hot tho, I think I'm gonna take a cool shower. I smell like a locker room. ;Stinkyfeet;Troll

I swear, if there's ever a zombie apocalypse and the electric grid goes down... you can bet your butt I'm headed north. Somewhere it dont get over 70 in the summer. I'm a southern boy, I love the summer and I'm proud of where I'm from, but I can't take this heat. Not without AC.

Folks can add a cover photo to their profile page now. Like this

I kind of like it, but I will also say is a bit Facebook-ish.

He was a cutie. He had been traded in... I'm guessing he had a taste for coral.
Lol, or it was just more annoying than a damsel.

Surprisingly, they have little dog syndrome really bad.

We had to capture 3 over the years and return to LFS.
Yeah, I seldom learn the first time...

At least they are food aggressive. [emoji6]

FWIW - my understanding is this is a possibility using a reef pi. However, in order to accomplish this type functionality, one has to know how to code in Go or Python to load the cycles specific to their region so that the ramping/dimming would be automatic. On the other hand, controlling lights through PWM and daily ramping/dimming with reef pi on-board scheduling is something that many reef pi builders/users do regularly.

If it's really low powered moonlights (typically under 45ma) they can be run directly off an arduino or pi. You can ramp up and down via timing routines and change the current at the pins which will dim/brighten the leds.

IMO most people use way too powerful moonlights. Even on a large tank, a few 5mm 20ma leds are plenty.

Also, it's not the brightness of the lunar cycle that effects habits of ocean dwelling creatures, it's gravitational pull.

Just my .02

My girlfriend has two that couldn't be farther from what you just said. You literally have to leave the room or they won't eat. Watch them from the door where they cant see you ir they dart into the rocks.

I've had 2 coral beauties I tried to add in with my fish. My clowns destroyed both of them in hours. One I saved but later succumbed to a velvet outbreak. The other was so badly beaten up before I could catch it, it didn't make but a short time in QT.

*shrugs* I just dont see the aggression in dwarf Angel's. They are some of the most talked up aggressive fish, and all I see are wussys.
