Off today. So, an old guy takes a ride in a 40 year old car. Life is good.

Got the hubs put on today. I ripped the driver's side apart when I got home from work this morning then took a shower and got a nap. The girlfriend woke me up when the new ones arrived and I had it buttoned up in about 45 minutes. It took longer to put the studs innthe back of the hubs than it did to install everything.... left side brake rotor is rusted because it was off the truck and it rained. First time I tap the brakes it'll be all shiny again.

Yep. 1979 with 18,711 miles. She still cleans up good and purrs like a kitten after all these years.

My 70’s stable of Chevys. The other one is a 79 El Camino with 47,000 miles. The El Camino was my dad’s pride and joy. Now I get to keep her going. I honestly attract more attention when I am out and about in her. This pic is a couple of years old, but they still look the same. The Vette is getting some attention the last couple of days. Neither are really what collectors look for in either of these, but lots of sentimental ties for me with both.

They look like collectors to me! Very nice.

Had a 77 El Camino and all my trucks are Chevy. We had two great Bonneville's that we ran into to the ground. Wife has a Audi convertible A4 and Toyota 4runner Limited.

Ooooh cars, I love cars!
I painted my 57 Chrysler about 8 years ago now, before my back went out and when I had more hair.
Had a blast!!

Awesome job on the paint! Sweet looking ride. What is the blue one next to it in one of the pics. Yours as well? They remind me of cars I used to see around my house when I was a kid. My dad was an early drag racer in the early days of the NHRA (late 50s). I remember he brought home a brand new 1957 Chevy and had the motor out of it by the next weekend. :) Regrettably, I did not turn out to have the same mechanical talents that he did.

I like the elco myself.
Thanks. If it came down to keeping just one, that is the one that I would have to keep. My best friend and I had left our Corvettes to each other in our wills. He had a 94, which eventually became a 2013-2014 Z06. But he sold it. I could have made out really big had he gone first, because all his will mentioned was his Corvette. No mention of the year. :D

Thank you. They are to me too. They are what I grew up driving. We just have an Explorer and I have an Equinox company car that I use for personal use.

Ha. No. Pirate Dictionary: Pirates Booty = treasure — money, jewels, and the like — obtained by criminal means, especially plundering or pillaging. If you're in the Caribbean on vacation, you could spend some time looking for buried pirate booty. And no, none of any of that in that car. :)

Now this car? Another story. :)

Except I had mine 4 years before Burt. :) They were sorta rare when I bought the ‘74. The last year of limited production. In ‘75 they were everywhere. The salesman I bought mine from found the car in the Dallas area. He drove 14 hours round trip to pick it up for me. Crazy. Bought it brand new for $5,500. :)

It makes my wife nuts how much kitchen stuff I deem “on marine”. That oxo brand of things, I also told her is a reefing brand, it makes her crazy when I say that hahha. “It’s a cooking brand not reefing brand!”, she claims... lol

I guess I should explain. A cop friend came in and asked me to marry him after I made him an ice cream coffee treat. That was my response. I've known him for about 25 years. His response was "you know I only want you more when you talk like that". See what kind of sicko friends I have in real life too?

The drink was french vanilla coffee about 10 oz (chilled in the fridge), 1 cup of ice, 1 big scoop of vanilla ice cream. Put in the blender on low for about 20 secs. Top with whipped cream. You can do the same with cappuccino if you like a sweeter taste. I also drizzle the cup with Hershey's ice cream syrup sometimes and add chocolate sprinkles.
