I sure wish I could work with acrylic like that. I am old and we used to make stuff like this out of glass. I even made a skimmer out of glass years ago. :-). Wish I still had it or pictures of it. Ran it off an air pump and a Sanders limewood air stone. Ha!

I have a whole box of lime wood airstones if you want to make another glass skimmer. Been sitting in my shop for years. Bought them from the manufacturer that supplied several companies and use threaded poly airline connectors. I might have to make a skimmer out of acrylic just to us them up lol! Still have a Schego air pump just for the pressures to generate flow through a tall skimmer. Come on by you are never to old to learn!

Andrew has been fascinated with this Lowell. He already said he wants to learn how to make one. I was able (because of you guys) to sit down in the floor and show him exactly how the water will flow through this.

Wow I have missed soooo much lol but I’m catching up lol. I have never been grounded well by my parents lol been grounded by my family dr a few times :(, but as they say life goes on.

So is the new tank ready yet? I read a bunch (a lot lol like 11 pages I think), and then said hello so still have to finish, and I haven’t read to where your son opened the big box. It’s kinda interesting how fun long hair can be and then again a headache. Boys at my hs always tried to tie my hair to the back top of my chair. It was really bad when I had two in at once, some caught me a few times.

@saltyfilmfolks I have always been curious as to which method is better the slower sump return turn over or higher. I currently run my twin returns at about 70%, but I also run filter socks and then even smaller microfiber pads before the return pumps. Which the (socks and pads have to be washed once a week). It would be neat to find info or well detailed info about the different aspects (kinda like you stated, I guess more in depth for me lol). But like you as well I run the my return pumps higher, because I need that extra water movement for my sps.

Lol your so funny but if you wanna learn it’s often taught to Shaolin Monks, gymnastics, and some yoga I have seen. I learned it from when I was in gymnastics, but learned that Shaolin monks use it to meditate, and find focus.
