A good reminder that tropical weather systems don’t have to make it to hurricane strength to cause a lot of damage. The picture below is in Beaumont, TX - only 65 miles from where I live. Tropical Storm Imelda has dumped 40+ inches of rain since yesterday there. That is a ridiculous amount of rain, except the same area had 60+ inches of rain from TS Harvey just a couple of years ago. Hate to see anyone have to deal with this and thankful that it didn’t come a little further east. You can’t get there from here right now, because water is over I-10 at the border. Unbelievable.
