Good evening, just decided to make the switch and try saltwater.i just purchased a well established 220 with coral and what not. I know im definitely in over my head, but we’re gonna give it a go. More of a full send!

Currently building infrastructure in the basement for the sump and rodi system

I’ll post a pic of the tank in its current status waiting for the move, and of the basement

Thanks, definitely a little intimidating with the responsibility of trying to keep everything alive after the move
There's lots of good advice and really helpful people on R2R

Hello and welcome to Reef 2 Reef. Good luck with your new tank

Don't worry to much. In 6 months it will all seem like 2nd nature. You just gotta be careful not to think you have more experience than you do. There's always some new challenge or coral/fish that you'll want to add that will give you fits.

Good luck! 👍

Welcome Newb. That's a nice-looking Tank but I fear you may be in for a rough ride going forward. I have about a years' worth of experience keeping corals (not that much) and just the move alone would be problematic, and I would fear a Tank Crash for a beginner is highly likely. If I were you, the first thing I would do as a new member would be to create a new post asking for opinions and advice about moving, setting up, and caring for a SW Tank with large Corals as a Hobbyist with limited experience.

I did ask in a fb group, got quite a bit of info. But no matter how much info you get, it’s never enough, and there’s so many variables. Some of the things I’m gonna do, I’m picking up thee rodi system from him this week to start making water. obviously transport the coral and living items in totes of water from the tank, my plan is to take about 100-150 gallons of water with me , basically set it back up exactly as is . I guess the thing I’m most worried about is checking my water parameters and how to respond to changes or fluctuations
