Very sorry to hear about your friend.

I am getting a tank of the same dimensions (it is surprisingly uncommon for what I think is a great size).

What would you recommend to someone doing it from the start (I have a calcium reactor but imagine I wouldn’t have to fire that up for months). I can see you are dosing, how much do you end up dosing daily? It seems like a lot!

Thank you.

It is a great tank size if you can make it work for the room. I'm surprised it isn't more common, also.
I finally switched to a calcium reactor after I got to the point I was dosing over 400ml of each 2 part per day. Now I still dose around 70ml per day along with the calcium reactor. I could make all of it up with the calcium reactor but by doing it this way my KH Director can more easily adjust my alkalinity to keep it stable. I need to do some more tweaking to get the 2 part usage down to around 40ml per day.

Thanks guys!

It's crazy how much I've cut out of the tank in the past few weeks... and still more needs to go to solve shading issues.

If you started again would you still use substrate? I’m in two minds.
I absolutely would use substrate. Not a fan of the bare bottom tanks.

Happy Star Wars Day!
This is an odd day. I was supposed to fly to Germany this past weekend to do Factory Acceptance testing for 2 large transformers. That trip was obviously canceled because of the virus.
Instead of being in Germany, I am awake at 1am to witness everything via a camera. All the joys of jet lag without ever getting on a plane!
One side benefit? I was home for a beautiful weekend. Yup.. the pool hit 80F and felt wonderful! Not bad when pool season starts on May 3rd!

That is awesome.
German made transformers, eh? As good as German made aquarium pumps?
Even better. These transformers actually exist! :p

I thought Eheim, and Tunze? not so huh?
I think both companies do still make at least some of their pumps in Germany. It might depend on the product line.

Are any aquarium pumps actually made in Germany still?

Royal Exclusiv and Abyzz

Klaus ran the latest RE / RD 80watt for over one year, before he gave the green light to release it.

lol
Slunk'd over to Reef Central to see what was going on... ;Muted

We need Royal Exclusiv to move to Reef 2 Reef... ;Hilarious

Victoria

I took the time to talk to Tunze Roger, super great guy.

From what I got, all the Tunze pumps except one are made by Sicce.
