Bright colourful coral

Hey,
My wife is complaining that we don’t have anything bright and colourful in our tank.
What do you guys/gals recommend?

if you can afford a scoly they are a nice bright color! otherwise, there are lots of colorful zoas and neon leathers are fun too

That would depend on what your system is and how much time you have to give to it.
Some pretty colorful easier to keep coral would be Zoanthids, Palythoa, and mushrooms,
Then little bit more attention to detail would be be lps and there are to many to list.
And then for more advanced Sps corals and again too many to list.
My tank has a mixture of all of the above but I spend a lot of time observing and monitoring my tank.

Tell us what you already have. A picture would help. Lights, system do you test parameters etc

If the tank is big enough, I would say most of this goes out of the window - a few SPS becomes rather easy to manage, and if you get the right ones, they won’t require much attention at all. LPS are one I would leave alone almost entirely, I don’t do anything to my tank but it does have 180 gallons of water in it.

The one time SPS becomes a pain to maintain is when you have them in larger quantities. I have a 500G system I help maintain with all 3 coral ‘types’ and the SPS quantity is enough to deplete most of the elements within a week.

I most definitely agree the larger the aquarium the more stable and longer the elements can remain in balance. I would still err on the side of caution when recommending most LPS and SPS to a beginner and start out slow before you lay down a few hundred dollars on a Rainbow chalice, Acan or an Angry bird Speciosa because of their amazing colors.
On the other side of that there are many beautiful color corals that I would recommend to a beginner that might have less resources or time to observe and maintain a system.
In a smaller or larger system but still there is an amount of effort required to be successful especially long term success, whether less expensive or less challenging.

If this is a softy tank rock flower anemones are ton of color once settled dont move.

A toxic green nepthea would also add color

Fire work clove polyps can be invasive

Another load of colourful corals, some are the same as above or similar but most are different :)

And don’t forget you can get some gorgeous colours from fish if you still have room :)

If you’re a beginner, there are lots of beautiful colorful mushrooms out there. They are very low maintenance.
