My wife once said that it's a wife's job to keep their husband from dying young and stupid because they won't go get medical help, every once in a while I am reminded of that bit of wisdom :face-with-thermometer: The last time it saved me from a very expensive root canal!

I would imagine that it could be worse from the bacteria in the rock in combination with the sting/breaking the skin.

Cuts were one of the main thing that we used to have to be so careful with when freediving back in the day!

Regardless of what happened to me, the above is not something I’d recommend doing.

I think between the worm, the razor sharp tubes and the dirty water was trifecta that made my fingers become infected.

The hand seems and looks a bit better this morning. Still swollen, I can bend my fingers much further than yesterday. Still pretty painful to do this though so I’ll continue to take it easy.

Little update after 2 weeks. My fingers are healing and now starting to peel where the hairs got me. Weird stuff, sorry if this is gross.

Interesting how people's bodies can react so differently to things. In the image I posted above you can see some bristles in my middle finger. I didn't even know they were there until I zoomed in on the pic.
