Hi all!

I wanted to post some pictures of my 34g Solana.

It has been running for a few months now. I downgraded from a 75g to this because I wanted my tank upstairs in my room, and a 75g wouldn't fit! :whew:

It is mostly SPS dominated, but that is soon to change! I've got the bug for the expensive Chalices and Acans! :nerd:

Here are some recent pictures:

Sunset Milli (Can't get that orange to show in the pictures!) -

Pearlberry (older picture... had some algae problems)! -

I've got a lot more SPS that I'll take some pictures of. :) I also just got the Orange Sherbet Chalice, and another Rainbow Acan that isn't looking too great right now, but will puff up and gain some color sometime soon!

Thanks for looking, and please feel free to comment/give advice!

The corals are great! Those two chalices are really nice. If you don't mind a little constructive criticism, I think that the shelf at the top, while providing lots of space for coral, looks unnatural and overwhelms the coral on it.

Looks good. Did you all ready have the SPS colonies?
Thanks!
I had two of them; the Sunset Milli, and the Tricolor.

Thank you!

I don't mind at all! In fact, that is exactly what my mom says about the top shelf, hah! I plan to rearrange it after it grows out a bit. My main goal is to not have any rock visible! But, I'm a long way off of that. :crossedlips:

EDIT: Forgot to add, that FTS is about 2 weeks old. I moved the Cali Tort in the back down a little lower, and then the Pink Birds Nest was given to a friend of mine. :)

How long has the tank been set up? Very little coraline.

It has been set up 2+ months.

I'm not wanting much Coralline growth in it, though. A local reefer has a tank that, for the most part, has no Coralline in it, and I'm trying to mimic that look. My goal is to have smaller amounts on the rocks, none on the back wall, and none on the glass.

I've found that Coralline takes away from the colors on the corals. The eye is too distracted by the busy surroundings, that you don't truly see that colors of the corals you actually bought!

The only way to keep coralline off of the rocks is scraping it, or getting an urchin. That tank looks really good for only two months. Be sure to update.

I don't like coralline either.

Is this your first tank? It looks great.

What are the acros on the top back shelf? Birdsnest, PL, ?, Pearlberry,?

This is actually my second tank. I started with a 75g when I turned 13, and downgraded to this when I turned 16.

The top shelf has a Bird's Nest (Now gone) Pink Lemonade, Pearlberry, Blue Tenius, and a Cali. Tort.

They were only a little smaller than they are now. The Pearlberry grew out a lot and still hasn't fully encrusted.
