Hi guys, really worried here and hope someone can help shed some light on what's going on with my torch. In the last couple of days my torch has been getting this brown skin like substance on 2 of the 3 heads, I have researched this and what's coming up is something called brown jelly syndrome, looking at other pics it does look like it's the same, now has anyone experienced this and is there a way to stop it spreading too other corals and even try and save the torch, for now I have isolated the torch coral in the sump away from all the other corals. Anything you have too offer in the way of help would be greatly appreciated.

Fragging off the healthy head would probably be a good idea. I lost a huge frogspawn due to a temp problem and every head quickly turned into brown goo (bacteria).

Yeah, cut out or suck off the bad to get a healthy head; do frequent water changes, and many reefers use antibiotics or Lugol's solution. I've never experienced BJD, and, hopefully, someone who has achieved a cure will post soon. I would certainly search this forum for treatment options.

I went ahead and cut off the infected heads and now keeping my fingers crossed the other head pulls through. I am thinking it was most probably the rise in temp as it has been rising to just below 27 degrees and sometimes going above, problem is we are having a heatwave here in the UK which we never get and it's really been messing with the temp and with not having air con in UK buildings my tank seems to be suffering. I have been using fans and frozen bottles of water to help keep the temp down. Thanks for the help guys it's greatly appreciated.
