My nitrate is 0 while phosphate is 5ppm. Should I be looking for a way to raise my nitrate then?
What are you using to measure PO4? 5 ppm of phosphate is really high, especially since your nitrate is reading 0 ppm.

It's an API, I'm researching different kits for the important things now actually. I've also been feeding my inverts goldfish food which I'm sure is loaded with phosphates, yes I just checked it says min phosphorous 1.1% and I haven't exactly been feeding lightly. I also just added some new dry rock which might be contributing I guess? And I'm loaded with macro algae, I've got a bunch of ulva because my inverts are eating it and I get it free from the ocean. I also have 6 mangroves all sprouting roots, and a pencil cap that has sprouted 2 new little pencil caps. I'm going to stop feeding that food now and look at some of the others I have for them and hope that my phosphate will come down with a little help and with any luck stay there. What are you using to measure PO4? 5 ppm of phosphate is really high, especially since your nitrate is reading 0 ppm.
I see white tips. It's gha. The fronds look like it also.So it didnt turn white even after sitting many hours. Its sooo weired because i thoight for sure that its GHA.
Here are some pics.
But it didnt turn white in the h202. My po4 is at 0.02 and my no3 is 15. I know ehat caused this getting out of hand i just need to take care of this.I see white tips. It's gha. The fronds look like it also.
1) Your po4 is WAY, WAY too high.
2) Cut your feeding considerably. Overfeeding inverts keeps them from doing their job.
3) Water changes (made with rodi not tap or bottled).
4) Get some good gfo going or phosguard to soak up some of the excess po4. I am not sure how much good fluconazole is going to do you with numbers that high to start with.
Ok. Thought you said Po4 was 5ppm. I must have misread, I apologize. But it didnt turn white in the h202. My po4 is at 0.02 and my no3 is 15. I know ehat caused this getting out of hand i just need to take care of this.
Ye the 5ppm was someone else, the algae has been sitting over night and still has not changes color acctully its still sitting in the h202 and still dark green.Ok. Thought you said Po4 was 5ppm. I must have misread, I apologize.
GHA doesn't necessarily turn white immediately. Sometimes it can take several hours such as overnight or within the next day but nonetheless if it starts to lighten up that usually means it's green hair algae .
I can tell by the way the pieces are by zooming in that it is hair algae. Bryopsis looks like a fern frond. This stuff is hairy. Either way if you can keep your nutrients low it is possible for the fluconazole to kill it. It has for others. Make sure you have plenty of the good snails that I mentioned because they're the ones that are going to eat up what dies. Hair algae just tends to take a little bit longer to kill off you might need to do two doses to get rid of it completely. Wait until the 21st day for the second dose.Ye the 5ppm was someone else, the algae has been sitting over night and still has not changes color acctully its still sitting in the h202 and still dark green.
What are you treating for?Hey guys,
I am sure someone has asked this but 261 pages in I can’t find it. I have done this treatment once already and wow is all I can say. I will also say tha I must have not done it long enough because I have a patch coming back so I am going to dose it again. My question is, since the first time I started running a biopellet reactor (which has been amazing), but if I can’t run The skimmer then should I take the biopellets off Line?
I kept mine on the entire time and I didn't see any issues with it in my 25 lagoon but I only had my skimmer off for 3 daysHey guys,

Sorry Bryopsis,
No3 is 0
Po4 is .02
So I am surprised that this even had enough nutrients to get going again.
Waiting is betterAny ideas, or is it just a waiting game?
