Hey everyone so im 99% sure i have bryopsis growing in my chaeto, it looks like really fine chateo with what looks like a feather on the end. Should i throw the whole thing out so it doesn't spread to my tank or save what i can from it? The other half to the problem is i am running the triton method. If i do pull it all out should i stop dosing the core 7 and switch over to BRS 2 part until i get some new chaeto?? Any help or input would be appreciated.

Can you post pics for ID?

Most have some algae growing with cheato. Ulva seems to be more resilient likely by outcompeting other algae - it’s still a pain as it finds its way into pumps etc.

I barely pay any attention anymore to what grows in my refugium - most of which is not pretty. If you have bryopsis it may not spread but there are no guarantees. If you’ve noticed it a while ago it’s already spread so not having cheato to compete for resources may actually be counterproductive.

If core 7 is working for you I would continue using it. Based on the scarce info published, there’s nothing special in the formula that would be only consumed by algae.
