Just got a bsj. Definitely love these burrowing fish. Built and designed my whole tank with one of them in mind. First jumped out of a little gap on my screen, but there was also stray voltage at the time due to an electrician that did my gfci outlet wrong. Got a tight screen and a redone gfci outlet, so I Got this Bsj yesterday and he began a burrow front and center on a rock that has a cynarina on my sandbed. This was great, but the rock wouldn’t hold with the excavating jaw work from the Bsj. It caved on him, so I intervened and he went elsewhere. All other rock is on my glass bottom, so no worries there, but he found a spot pretty deep in my rock work. I’m happy the sand is getting turned over there, but the target feeding effort is going to suck. If he stays there, this is pretty much a hobbit hole, and I’m going to name him Bilbo Baggins. I am hoping a pear snail wrecks his den, and he relocates. Right now a porcelain crab is his roommate. I did work on reinforcements around the cynarina. Time will tell, but any suggestions?
