Bubble algae battle who will win?

My tank is invested with bubble algae and it’s still a constant battle. This is just one of the rocks that’s covered with bubble algae.

What didn’t work;
Emerald crabs
Reflux
Foxface haven’t pick at any algae so far but I had it for only a week so far.

The next plan ;
Using a metal brush and flathead to manually remove them.

Only luck I’ve had is physical removal. The nice thing is they pick off easily. Also, it’s apparently okay to puncture them to remove. There used to be a belief that piecing them would create more algae. Apparently that’s not true.

My tank is 10 months old. Each day I use tweezers to pick out half a dozen or so bubbled. So far I am not infested…

I do not think that bubble algae is that bad. Lower your phosphate by combining carbon dosing and GFO. It works in my DT.
This is my used-to-be quarantine, now a shelter for incompatible fish and a Bubble algae heaven :cool: that I keep to manage phosphate levels that are around 0.03

As I said above, get the tweezers out. Online somewhere I saw a pack of long tweezers for aquarium use.

Bubble algae is hard to control when it gets out of hand, even manually.

What concentration did you use ReefFlux? Fluconazole concentrations are typically given for bryopsis eradication. For bubble algae, you need a good 6 week treatment at 4x the concentration recommended for bryopsis.

My bubble algae outbreak was like yours. Flux Rx got it down to nothing visible. It isn't eradicated--there can still be bubbles in low lit places where Flux doesn't work well. So now I manually remove 1-10 bubbles per day, which is not unmanageable.

Ps. Don't expect to see any effect on the bubble algae until end of week 2 of Flux treatment.
