I have two ReefWave 45s in my 70 gallon eShopps Mariner tank. We had a very small bubble algae outbreak a few months ago, but two emerald crabs made very quick work of that and haven't really seen any on the rockwork or anywhere else, except the wave makers.

Is this normal?

I guess the crabs just can't get to the wave makers to eat it?

I am trying to get my phosphates up a notch so don't want to take them out to clean yet, but will soon.

Yeah, Bubble algae tends to grow on wave makers where crabs can't get to it, unfortunately. The good news is, it pops off fairly easily in clumps.
