Hey folks, I wanted to share this project I built for my Marine Engineering literacy class using arduino!(I'm finishing up a degree in oceanography). It's a salinity/temperature monitor, built using an Atlas Scientific conductivity probe and a DS18B20 waterproof temperature probe. It also hooks up to an outlet via a 5V relay. When the salinity gets above 33.5PSU(~1.025 specific gravity) the outlet turns on for a few seconds; the outlet is hooked up to a pump in a bucket of distilled water. It's not the most sophisticated build and I definitely have ideas for improvements but it's my first big DIY reefing project.
If anybody is interested in more details, wants the code, etc; I'm more than happy to share it all if there's interest!
