Recently purchased a uv from a guy on here named RAMS. I asked the seller if he would ship the product and he said yes. I said ok. We agreed at 200 for the uv. Exchanged phone numbers and started conversation. He sent me a video of the uv in operation and I said ok. Sent him 200 and he shipped the uv. Uv came in shipped to my door. I got off of work at 5 pl. came home opened the box and noticed glass where the light bulb was and also as I pulled the bulb it self out the sleeve the bulb has some stuff rolling around in it. I send him the pictures of this thing completely damaged. He claims it was done in shipping. I say fine. I will have to replace the bulb. He send me a mason link for. Nock off bulb. I tell him the bulb cost 70. We don’t agree. I order the bulb on Amazon to see if this will work. After further inspection I notice the sleeve also is damaged in Whitehall were the glass came from. I couldn’t even unscrew the bulk head to try and even pull the sleeve out. Like he glued it together. After going back and forth with the seller he agrees to take the item back and send me my money. I tell him I will re package this thing and send it to him today and provide tracking number. He says he will refund when he gets the item. Which in my eyes is what ever scammer says. So I tell him I’m not doing that. He says he will not do it the way I wanna do it. So instead I have to file a claim with PayPal to get my money back and wait weeks for this to get resolved to prevent Him from scamming me. And then he calls me a scammer saying I broke his bulb and sleeve after stating it broke in shipping. Be careful with this guy. I also recently sold and purchased several items in here with no issues. Just recently from an admin.

1. You should go through PayPal if he will not take it back.
2. He or you - can also go through the shipper (it should be at least partly insured)
3. IMHO - the reason you use PayPal or a credit card is to allow them to mitigate the dispute. He could be a scammer - or you could be a scammer. (I'm not saying either one is) - it was probably an accident.

Not sure that this doesn't belong in the 'vendor forum' - and also not sure all of the other person's personal texts, etc shoudl be displayed.

I had the same issue. The seller sent me $70 or I would open a PayPal dispute and return the item.

Paypal will reimburse you bro 100% . Just make sure you keep tracking info and update it on PayPal .

it’s a common thing with UV shipping I see. However the seller should know these things can happen and “the seller is taking a risk”. The buyer has 90 days to be satisfied with the product too. 90 days!! Ha

Sometimes it’s cheaper to spend $70 or pay half for the bulb because PayPal will charge you a % for having them step in. Then you have to consider shipping cost again

By the way - assuming it was damaged in shipping, the carrier could very well be responsible - and I would open a claim with them as well (as I assume there are deadlines to do so).

I always insure anything for the value of the purchase in case of damage in transit - and often - I ask UPS to pack it - as then there are further warranties. Its costs a small amount - but does avoid problems.

I clearly sent video before shipping unit and he is claiming bulb and sleeve is broken.I agreed I will give refund and I never said that.He doesn’t want to go with PayPal and he just need money or be refunded. If he doesn’t want to go with PayPal why he sent money using PayPal ‍♂️.He started threatening me that he will post bad about me if I won’t give refund to him ‍♂️ And yes he did it here lol.he is telling its not how it works as PayPal takes weeks ‍♂️.I rest my case here and will let PayPal do it’s own thing
