Cade Chaos Grimoire

Day off. Coffee now, nails soon. Property after. Doubt there's been progress.
Coffee and new nails sounds like progress to me. So just go with that! Looking forward to seeing what sort of cosmic collection ends up on the claws, er, um, I mean nails today.

I hate that. And since you’re not a broker it‘s worse. Down the street from us, they were building a house, that is still being built a year after we moved into our house, so they’ve been constructing for at least a year and a quarter, yet 6 days ago, a new property is being built next to the house they are already building, (same contractors and company) and both floors were constructed already, all the paper wrapping was done, and they have finished the left side of the roof…..in 6 days!? We got some information from the houses……guess which house is for a family and which is for a broker!

I knew what you meant, D. Was simply trying to put a positive spin on it to help start your day!

I/hubs does cars, similar because we have customers waiting. For example, 2021 jeep with front end damage. Typically a 2-3 day job, but the headlight is on back order until June/July. So even though it seems as if nothing is happening, we are hurrying up and waiting. To the customer though, " why aren't you doing anything to my car?!" Because your $1800 headlight is unavailable and not in until they call and say it's here. Absolutely nothing I can do about it. Sometimes things get paused that are out of our control.

To danieyella, so sorry Hun, to hear your lack of progress. I hope they get going on your project soon, hopefully it's not a major delay with material or something else.

Have you chosen colors yet? Please tell me your color palette will be mostly black. I wish I did my walls darker. My bedroom I did a dark grey and I should have done black. Rest of the house was med grey and I wish I did them the dark grey I did my bedroom.

The company has been working on our house for a year now, not exaggerating.

At sign, we were quoted May-Sept this year for finish time. We had to fight the bank to extent the build contract to Sept to begin with.

Last month they told us Sept would be a stretch, that they'd likely take months longer, that they took on too many projects and were struggling to keep everything organized.

This is not a case of buyer just being impatient and not understanding the process. This is a case of really poor contractor taking on more than they could handle & buyer having to suffer for it.

Anyway, IDK when I'll be back.

Thats aweful may-sept is a lot of time.

Don't let it get you down. This too shall pass! Looking forward to the day you celebrate moving in! Easier to live in anticipation than expectation. All your awesome plants, aquariums, pets, friends, and family will be there with you to cross the finish line. Life is about the in between not the destination. Choose how you want to live today!

As a contractor I am moving as fast as I can to keep people and projects on time. Just yesterday more change orders were added and I am not sure the reserve materials will be enough to cover the changes. It is frustrating but the customer is being very gracious with us even as they add to our work load!

Well said all... ;)
kinda glad i was not here for Richard...:thinking-face::face-without-mouth:
Take some pics while you're there today Danielle...:)

I aspire to your game level of GIF usage :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Plant question!…. My aloe plant at work needed a bigger pot. I had this one laying around. It’s ceramic but has no drain holes. I read aloe plants prefer shallow pots because of the way the roots grow and desire to stay dry. The lack of drain hole makes me nervous but I think it will be ok because it’s shallow… thoughts? Advice? Am I supposed to be pruning this bad boy?

I think it'll be fine, my aloe plant is a thirsty b & sucks up moisture very quickly. The biggest concern with no drain holes is root rot from the water not getting used up fast enough or having a route to drain.
