We just got new chicks too. Our flock was dwindling as some get older, so we replenished to keep the rainbow eggs coming.

A spear i made from a pocket knife.. it's very balanced and throws well. We used to throw it at this tree behind the shop. It's fun sticking it into the trunk. We Retired it after a bum in the bush almost got hit. Oops

In hindsight, Idk why i thought you would want to see this. But then again, you did get a fish spear. So maybe

I lived on the Gulf in Hudson in the 80s. I left when I graduated high school in 90 and I got a good job in Michigan.

Yup! I loved florida when I was a kid. Hudson was a lot different back then. We used to go right on dixie hwy and shoot rifles. That's probably not the case anymore. I lived in Gulf Harbors and used to hang out at hudson beach a lot too.

AHHHH

I feel like this last week has lasted 2 months.

Okay, so - last update we'd gotten the two 6wk old pullets. We finished the temp coop and got them moved over. It's ridiculous. We love it.

We chickenwired the entire bottom and added some security bars to every door for racoon proofing. But here it is after assembly.

We plan to put it in a bigger - walk-in run eventually and likely build something larger that matches the theme then move the quail into this one.

The temp roommate moved out. We helped get her stuff from her ex's on Sunday and move it all to her new house. She gifted me a blackberry plant.

Family came to visit, we went to the nursery and I spent way too much on new plants. Got a beautiful orange turmeric, a jaboticaba sabara, a barbados cherry, a starfruit, and 3 sunshine mimosa.

The 5 little babies arrived, one didn't make it. The other 4 are doing well so far.

I went back to work Monday from stay-cation. It was rough. First day back always is.

Yesterday was day off, spent it with the birds and repotting random plants and planting seeds. I need to assemble a few trellises this weekend - and I have more things outside that need repotted still.

Tanks are doing well.

Lids for the pony tank and toad tank arrive today :)
