Calcium question

I was testing the water parameters today and found my Calcium to be low but my ph and alk are both good. What can i do to get my Cal back up? Any DIY ideas? I heard finely crushed eggshells could work?

A solution of calcium chloride in water is the sure fire method for raising calcium alone. You can find reasonable dry quantities from a bunch of vendors, including BRS.

Ca imbalances can also be caused by low magnesium - I'd get that tested before trying to raise Ca as it may be impossible with low Mg. Mg can be raised with magnesium sulfate (Epsom salt) and magnesium chloride.
