Can you post a picture and discribed how you have the tubing
The clear tubing is my feed line coming from a Toms aqua lifter pump. That goes to the black pump hard line. Picture 2 you can see from my CO2 tank to the bubble counter then it goes to the T at the top where it comes out the other side to the black hard pipe from the pump. The single line from the top goes to the secondary CO2 scrubber and then to my needle valve into the sump. Sorry its not the best pictures but if you need me to take more just let me know.

Ok this reactor has to much going on . I wish I still built equipment I would give you one so you could get rid of this unit . So the line I have marked red is going to your sump correct pic 2 , and you followed all the lines in the manual correct .

Correct the RED marked line is going to my sump. As for all of the other connections yes I followed the instructions and I just watched the BRS video of this one set up also right now and it is the same. I know skimz are not the best and I know they are no longer even around. But it is what I got for now and I am one broke reefer as of right now.

Trust me I completely understand the being broke part . I wasn’t knocking the reactor they just made it overly complicated.
So you have your PH inside the reactor set to 6.5 .

How fast are the bubbles in your bubble counter .

How fast is your drip going into the sump.

Yes I have the Milwaukee PH controller set to 6.5 so it runs from 6.5-6.6. My bubble is around 2 bubbles per second and my drip is a very fast drip but if I would have to guess I would have to say around 4-5 drops per second.

Slow your drip to the sump down . There needs to be time for your media to start breaking down so it can be useful. To fast of a drip and you will be fighting keeping your ph inside at 6.5 and it’s not letting your media start to dissolve.

A little bit of info on the different media types and what it can do .

I thought Arm was better close to 6.0? I don’t use Arm, someone who does can help. Once you get your dKH to 30-35, increase flow and co2 at the same time. Try and keep your PH the same and check dKH in 24. This was the hardest thing for me “to get” and be comfy with. Once I did, it became second nature. I do always keep Alk and CA on a Dos in case I am not home and I need to give the system an assist or bail it out if something happens.

I think that article is missing some set points personally. Arm and Reborn don’t melt similar to one another at the same set points, they have different melting points. I think Arm’s melting point is at or near Reborn’s mush zone.

I honestly don’t remember what the set point for arms is . It’s been 20years since I used it . I just know with my reborn I keep it 6.4-6.5

Same on the reborn. I’ve just never had the need to try another brand. The lower set point is not appealing to me anyway. I would consider trying a media that melted at a higher set point though.

I agree but the OP is on a budget and I can understand that .
