Hey all,

Just set up a geo calcium reactor and have started dialing everything in over yesterday and today, however, with my effluent turned down considerably the reactor is pretty warm. I’m assuming this is from the recirculating pump but is this anything to be worried about long term? Thanks!

Only heat I can think of is from the pump. I have never had mine feel warm to touch the tubes of the reactor. Check pump and if your effluent is that slow, maybe you should only run half a day or less if you have it running all day now. Just a thought.

I might try upping the effluent rate to see if that helps the heat issue. If that doesn’t work I might have to turn off the recirculating pump off for part of the day. I have effluent at about 2-3 drops every second now.

Completely normal. No different that putting a pump in a bucket. Small sealed body of water. Nothing to worry about. I wouldn't go making changes just to cool it off.

Thank you! First calcium reactor and only 2 days in so it’s all very new to me.
