Age old question. Had this torch and hammer for a long time. 6 months since torch was added. Had the hammer for longer. They always coexisted. Was getting ready to leave home and broke up a fight. Torch actually lost a sweeper.

So I come back home an hour later and see the same thing. But upon closer inspection, hammer is starting to bleach in that area. So I guess Torch 1 - Hammer 0.

Yes but mine touch and are fine?!
With all the euphyllia I’ve kept, this is a first for me. I’ll leave them be and let them work this squabble out on their own.

Funny thing is, I got rid of a giant torch I had just yesterday because it was getting too big and was stinging others nearby. Most of my corals have been in my tank for 6 months or more than a year and a half. Coral growth is a problem.

One word.....

Frag!

Just fragged a few heads off my frogspawn because it was getting to big and stinging nearby SPS pieces.

Needless to say, the person I'm mentoring in the hobby, is getting 5 free heads of frogspawn, a chunk of sylo, couple duncan heads, couple branches of gorgonian, and a few sticks I "accidentally" fragged.

Move it. I had no obvious issues with my torch being close but I moved it because for aesthetic purposes and my other euphillia are so much happier, colorful and growing faster. Torches are trouble makers they want their space

Most euphyllia are fine touching, Torchs are the exception to the family, obviously.

And yet sometimes it works with torchs too. I just never trust torchs, and always keep them separated.
I agree with this, and I would add Octospawn (euphyllia yaeyamensis) to the list of those that must be isolated because they're aggressive.

I either need a bigger tank or need to start fragging. Corals just keep beating each other up. When you start a new tank, you want the fastest growing corals. As your tank ages, you want slower growth for LPS and softies. Although my SPS aren’t growing beyond control, I may be complaining about that down the road.
