I acquired a piece of frogspawn off of a trade about a year ago. I put it in my son’s tank and it thrived! After it reached 4-5 heads we cut it in half. Half remained in his tank, and the other half placed in mine. Both pieces of frogspawn have done well, but in the last two months the frogspawn in my son’s tank has grown super fleshy. It’s to a point that it has grown over the hard structure that was once there. I can’t find anything about this, but it cant be good right? Any ideas?

His clown fish host in the frogspawn in case that info is useful.

That's what you want to see. A healthy flesh band.
So this is what I first thought. However the “band” grew so much there is no longer a band. It is fleshy all the way down to the rock it’s Skelton was glued to.
