Petco has a cool porcupine puffer juvenile that I want but I don’t have a copper test for a qt

If I calculate the exact water volume in my tank do I really need a tester?
I have a different question. Do fish need cooper during quarantine/observation. If I were to do a risk analysis, I would say don’t add something that you can’t test for AND in my experiences, increases stress which is the number one killer of fish.

Ok

I was just asking in case I needed copper. I don’t have a reliable LFS hence why I don’t have a test

I’ll just order one off of Amazon. Any recommendations other than Hanna? The Hanna one is $70 rn 😬

I highly advise to use a test kit such as hanna brand. You have risk of over-dosing and even under-dosing in which copper would not be effective.

Ok. Is there a good place to get it that it’s not $70

Alternatively, the tank transfer method is a medication free option. You can treat for both velvet and ich with that method. Adding in treatments of Prazi pro and metroplex will treat for flukes and uronema as well.

No, you cannot do it accurately to maintain the proper levels. Asking for a disaster imo. If you want to qt then get the proper tools, or your going to kill more fish than necessary, or do an inadequate qt.

Personally I wouldn’t dose anything with out a proper test kit.

When playing darts you want to be able to see the board and know where you land. If not you could end up all over the place.
