Hi all my candy canes seem to be receding. I recently installed a reef led 90 could too intense lightning cause it? Everything else seems good and healty

Tank is over 3 months old, coral has been in there about 2 I'd say.
Salinity 1.025
Temp 25 degrees
alk 7-8 dkh
nitrates between 5 and 10.

duncan and gsp a re doing great. I had some yellow scroll coral that started to bleach so i've dropped light intensity.

Looking back through pictures it was nice and puffy 3 weeks ago, the light change has been the biggest change.

What about PO4?
temp is 25 degrees??
These like moderate lights heavy on blue and moderate water flow. Feed 2-3x per week

If the only thing you've changed with lighting...then yes. Changes in intensity, spectrum, duration can all impact corals negatively (and positively but usually after long span of negatively). Dial it down a bit for a while, ramp up slow. Then never change the light again. :)

Have you noticed anything being expelled from their mouths? Stringy stuff?

Did you ever determine the issue with the coral? I’m looking into beginner corals and I’m curious what your lighting schedule/intensity is for your tank.

Unfortunately corals don't recover as quick as they deteriorate. At the moment they haven't gotten worse, and I'd even say I'm seeing slight improvement in the candy cane. not so sure about the scroll coral. I reduced the light intensity significantly and upped the calcium levels as they were low.

Just an update. I thought they were getting better. Puffing up a bit then one head bailed out. I thought the second head was doing better and it bailed out last night. I'll chalk this one down as a loss.
