The color of that water is hypnotizing so beautiful ,, lucky u to be there
Oh I WISH that was now, but ya the camera wasn't so bad for 2001 !!! The water clarity from the boat was amazing. Made you think the bottom was mere inches away.lucky u to be there
Today we changed to a new island (Bora Bora), but here a few shots and videos that I took yesterday at a motou in Moorea.
First up, a moorish idol getting a cleaning from a cleaner wrasse. There were 2 other wrasses doing cleaning as well, the other 2 were very pretty, half yellow and purple. They had a regular garage setup with all the locals stopping in as they swam by.
The fish in this area are not afraid of people as they get fed my the resort staff. Probably the reason I was able to get a video of a moorish idol without chasing him around and never getting close. But, the side effect is they beg like dogs. Coming right up to you and expecting a treat.
Here is a wrasse giving me puppy eyes. After several minutes he figured out I was not the one giving out food. It was tough keeping him on screen because he liked to be 6" from me, and kept circling me or swimming through my legs.
Here are some other shots including the begging wrasses and a butterfly that was also begging.
The moorish idols did not beg, though that would have been funny to see.
Sadly my vacation to French Polynesia is over. I still have some pics that I have not posted though. Today I am posting up a series of pics that I created while accidently having my camera set to underwater macro mode, but was shooting as if it was in normal underwater mode. Doh. Most of the pics I took were runied, but a few came out kind of neat. Here are some of the more interesting ones. The fish have startled looks because the camera was using the flash due to the setting and the dim light. Even with the camera unexpectedly flashing, it did not occur to me to investigate the cause.
