Cat people

Love my two furry feisty felines. Both were adoptions, the grey one (Abigail) was a kitten, and the white one (Yeti) was full grown, and deaf when were adopted him.
This is the perfect example of why you don't need fancy toys for a cat. They like they box they come in better :D

+1 to do not shop adopt

cats eat fish !!!!

Not if you have a lid. I have a rimless tank and cats aren’t stupid. I showed them the top of the tank and they’ve never tried to jump up there.

You can definitely find a Russian Blue in a rescue. There are so many cats out there that need good homes.

These are my rescue babies.

Is that a Siamese or Snowshoe? Can't see if it has the white neck/feet.

Cats do just fine by themselves. They are able to entertain themselves and very content to be by themselves.
A few cheap toys, and food. A litter box and they are fine.
It’s interesting to read cat-owner reports when video recording what cats do while their owners are out of the house. Much of it is sleeping but in between naps they spend time looking for their owner and meowing.
Cats are social. They can be alone all day if that’s what needs to be done but so can dogs. If someone is picking a cat vs a dog based on alone time, just get the dog. When you get home they are both happy to see you; some cats are just more subtle.

Siamese. She came from a horder house. The woman had 136 cats. Dead ones in the freezer. They needed bio hazard suits to go into the house. Ming is the sweetest cat!

I never said they weren't social and loved being around it's people. Mine stays outside most of the time when no one is home. But the minute my jeep hits the driveway my cat comes running.
I just think cats deal with being alone easier than a dog does.
I've had both all my life and love them both.

Ok. I am going to be the bad guy I guess. Getting a cat is a 10 to 20 year thing. You DO NOT HAVE TO GET A RESCUE CAT. If you want a full breed cat and have something in mind go right ahead and do it. I realize it is a very sweet and caring thing to do to save a kitten or cat but you will most likely miss out on the wonderful traits of some full breeds.

I own a siamese. Full breed but no papers. I knew what I was getting into dying seagull meow and all. It was worth the multi month hunt and hundreds of dollars. 15 years old now and bonded to me like no other animal I have ever experienced. It really did live up to the stereotypical traits they have.

My two cents.

Looks like ming's parents were bred more as the modern siamese showcats versus the older version of the breed they call an apple head with typical issues of slightly crossed eyes or possibly a kinked tail. Just an fyi. You can sorta tell by the less rounded head and pointer ears.
