I'm located in Northern California (East Bay).

Mixing is a hot button issue, but one that no one has the answer as to why problems exist. Most would recommend that you not take the risk with a nem that has such a high price tag. I agree that there is at times complications and in general I would err on the side of caution. I would definitely not recommend mixing them without understanding the risk and the willingness to live on the edge as well as the know how to address the issue should a problem arise. There are two hypotheses that exist: some people believe that it is chemical warfare through the water column or that it is due to a bacterial infection. I haven't seen any real evidence of proof of either hypothesis outside of anecdotal posts. However, I have a much easier time believing the second hypothesis rather than the first. In either case, if things go south for whatever reason, all will recommend a treatment with an antibiotic (Ciprofloxacin). Having a hospital tank and Cipro on hand is something that I would recommend to anyone buying and housing a high end nem.

That being said, I personally have mixed CSBs, CC Supernovas, and CC Infernos for over a year in the past without an issue. Then I split them to make sure they didn't mingle with each other for identification issues because they were escaping through the tiny basket holes and trying to get into the others’ basket. After some time, I put my CC Infernos and CSBs back together in a system that has a shared sump, but that was after a prophylactic treatment of Cipro.

I'm in LA so the stress will be limited. I would give away my widow and keep my CSB. Strongly considering.
