All of my chalices are either receding or the tissue is coming right off the skeleton. I tested the water and all params were good. Mag was a little low around so I am slowly raising it. Any ideas?

Ouch Mike....did you check salinity? When did you calibrate your refractometer last? If all other params seem good, I would say it's either salinity or perhaps stray voltage? They don't like low Mag, but I wouldn't think that would cause this problem.....So sorry to hear this.....keep us posted.

Flow and/or light issues are usually the main reason for chalices to act this way.... sometimes propagation can cause a newly cut chalice to have it's skin blow off... not saying you cut it wrong, but I lost an entire colony after cutting because of flow. There is always door number 3, try an interceptor dip :)

My main Bubble Gum Monster COlony 100+ eyes is one that the flesh is just coming off the skeleton. I have not cut it in a long time. Could it be bacterial like an infection. Any dips? I will check all params again and post them here.

Could you post your levels for us? In my experience "good" usually means that you didn't test and you're asuming that everything is fine.

I had an issue like yours when I was dosing kalk (only thing I tried dosing). I really don't think that chalices are into calcium/magnesium changes.

Test those levels and then bring some water to the fish store and have them retest :)

Reason to does interceptor is because....

There is an LPS parasite that is being called "black bugs" interceptor seems like the only cure at the moment...

I spoke to Julian sprung on the phone yesterday regarding this very same issue and his words were " light up candles and star praying" the issue is a bacterial problem which is water born, so far I'm doing a lot of testing but the only two things that have work for me is fragin the coral ASAP or add super glue gel only to the infected area, hope that can help you Mike.

^^^^^ that sucks.......
the only time i had receding was when my mag dropped to like 1200.... my chalices love 1600mag and it's a real pain to keep it up there with my sps tank....it likes to run about 1400 which the challies still do good but at 1500 to 1600 i get awesome colors and even better growth...
