Hey everyone,

I’ve been using the petco boxed water since I started saltwater tanks and now I’m planning to change to nutri-seawater because it has a lower Alk which is the reason why I’m switching.

I’ll be doing a water change tomorrow and was wondering if the change of saltwater will have an effect on my corals. I currently have lots of euphyllia some RBTA’s and acros.
Not sure if anyone uses nutri-seawater and if it’s changed the chemistry in your reef?
Any input greatly appreciated!

I moved already. Tank has been up with water for about 6-7 months and I am evaporating about 30 gallons a week.

I used boxed Imagitarium Pacific Ocean water from PetCo, too, for a while.
Never had any issues with parameters but, as mentioned, got expensive as I started jumping tank sizes. (I think it was like $2.50 / gallon)

I'm buying bulk pre-mixed saltwater (and RODI) from an LFS now and just fill 5 gallon Sparkletts bottles for transport/storage.

For my current setup (40 gallon breeder), it's convenient and price is pretty negligible:
-- 75 cents / gallon for saltwater
-- 25 cents / gallon for RODI
