What about drilling a hole straight down a full stack?

Right now we cut a small roughly 1/4" x in the bottom of each one, then expand it slightly with a sharpie marker, each corner grips the frag plug stem pretty well. We do super glue or rubber band some heavy frags or small colonies so they don't fall out.
