thats crazy that they have eyes all other themselves. and yes what a colorful one in the picture. thanks for sharing the article

That thing is amazing looking. How big do they get in the wild? I have one i've seen in my tank thats like a half inch, but I've seen them scuba diving where they're like 3 or inches longer.

I had a small on in my tank that got transfered to my friends tank...it grew to about 3-4 inches...thing was a monster until he climbed out of the tank.

It didn't survive out of the tank? I've seen them attached to rock above the waterline when snorkling and assumed they could survive out of water. I just wish my 1/2" one was colored like the one in that article

No unfortunately it was curled up and dried out behind the tank. His had some cool reds but nothing like the one from the article.

Very cool article. And the chiton pictured is amazing! I wonder if they would wreak havok in a reef tank? ;)

I think the article said they are about 3" long.

Fascinating read. I bought a few chitons from a vendor once, but none of them survived.

Did you see them dead?? Because the one i had was in my rock work and i rarely ever saw him. Once the adapt to your system they can do pretty well.

Yeah, I found empty shells. Not sure where I went wrong in the acclimation process.

Yeah then can be really sensitive in acclimation - Also one of the first ones i bought was stuck to my Tupperware and i must have hurt him when i pushed him off because he died. Now i am super careful with them.
