choice sand

I would like to put a layer of sand in my tank started for several years. sand that you recommend? dimension? Ground height?

I would keep it less than 1" deep. When adding substrate to an existing system I would add it incrementally, and used to rinse it using tank water collected during WC's,

Best sand I have used to date is the Tropic Eden Tongan Reef flakes. It does not blow around and cause sand storms like most other sands do.

+1 for Tropic Eden Reef Flake.

I managed to get it to move around in one corner with when I was playing with MP40 placement, but otherwise it's never been stirred up even with the voretchs on full.

I'm running the 3mm reef flakes.
There also have a tongan (miniflakes) 2mm which is probably what blindskater is running.

Maybe buy a bag of each to get some variety.

but with a coarse sand, the debris does not go to the bottom of pollutants creating problems?

Any medium grain aragonite dry sand is my preference
