I am debating over 3 XR30 g4 or 4 XR15 g4.

What are you planning on stocking for coral type? More adjustable light allows you the latitude to turn down or up depending on your stocking needs and how that may change over time. If you need more and don't have more than you end up buying, more. Better to have more than not enough. 3XR 30's are more than 4 15's.

I would go with the 3 XR30 g4's if I was doing that build especially if it was heavy sps tank.

I plan a mix reef, 50% sps, the rest are lps and zoaz. I will stick with 3 XR30
