My pintail was the shy one of my fairys when first in QT with the exquisite, but is turning out to be the boss of the duo now.

Not that new, it's been available in the hobby for quite a while. It's on the chart in the lanceolatus complex
Right; it was "new" about 4 years ago. It did get an official description and latin name a couple years ago.
Yep. C. Shutmani I believe.
Correct; and I do need to update that graphic accordingly at some point.

They are pretty aggressive. If you had a handful of other fairy wrasses with it, it should be distracted enough not to focus too much on any one particular fairy.

Depends on the species, some are more aggressive than others. A regular lubbocki should be fine though.

Elite Aquatics, but they don't make them anymore.

I wanted to follow up on this for everyone. If you hit them up on their Facebook page, they will give you a quote on whatever size you are looking for.

What do you think of my observation that Fairy and Flasher wrasses tend to leave females or juveniles (flasher and fairy), regardless of species alone, or at least not bother them too much?
I added several females to my tank over the last 18 months and never have problem with aggression. I do have several fairly aggressive wrasses in my tank like Naoko, Blue throat, Laboute. None of these bother female in DT which is a 320 gal tank, but also in my 40 gallon QT system.
I initially thought that I may have abnormally kind wrasses, and they are very well fed and I use acclimating box. Now I think the secrete to not having too much problem with adding wrasses is to add them as juveniles or females.

My Eightline Flasher pair. Poor picture way back of the tank. My tank is 36 inches wide.

I think it may be size related even more. I have a sub 2" P hemiattenuatus that has terminal male coloration. He's completely ignored by the much larger flashers even though he is newer. The fairies do chase the larger flashers but also ignore Tiny Tim.

my current 120G stocking plan:

I currently have a Solon Wrasse in the DT
in observation/QT: pink spotted Goby and Royal Gramma

Stock plan:
Flame Wrasse (there's a female at LFS that's been there at least 5 weeks now and likely my next fish unless it sells before next weekend)
Pintail Wrasse (been at the LFS for a while now, I may also pick up with the flame wrasse)
Exquisite Wrasse
Lineatus Wrasse
(my favorite wrasse probably highest desired fish)
3-5 Lyretail Anthias (one of my wife's favorite fishes... every time we go to the LFS together she points and asks what are those?)
Purple Tang
Vermiculate Leopard wrasse
(probably 6-12 months before this addition) maybe a pair? I love the female coloring
Mandarin (my wife's favorite fish, but I fear not fast enough with the wrasses and will be 12+ months away before tank is ready)

I chose the solon wrasse as my first fish because it was at the LFS for more than 3 months, and I was confident in it being my first fish. it's probably 2.5" at this point, could this be an issue with my stocking plan? I can always banish him to my QT tank if adding others becomes an issue.
I was planning on adding a female flame and pintail next (next weekend will be 2 weeks with the solon in DT of a freshly cycled tank)
The exquisite wrasse would be next
Anthias after that
and finally a Lineatus as the last Fairy wrasse (will probably be a male based on what I see in stock)

The Solon wrasse is a little on the agressive side to Pintail and Exquisite IME. I have not keep Lineatus. I would add the Pintail and Flame first, then the other wrasses.

My Naoko is beautiful and fit beautifully into my tank. Large with plenty of wrasses.

I just want to stress that is NOT the norm with the species. Sometime you can get lucky though, but in general I wouldn't count on it - especially with this species.

Eeek. Yeah, that's potentially an issue. It's been there for a few months now?
maybe a pair?
Eh, don't. Just stick with one.
Mandarin (my wife's favorite fish, but I fear not fast enough with the wrasses
Not advisable, ever I'm afraid. It will get out-competed by the wrasses.

Yeah, you'll definitely need to be watchful with that one. It's pretty 50/50 at this point, and you may need to remove it.
Beyond that, your proposed order looks fine.

The solon wrasse has only been in the tank for 4 days. I'm gonna give the tank a week to make sure there aren't any issues with parameters before I add more fish. I do have 2 fish in QT (pink spot goby and gramma). I'll keep an eye on the solon, hopefully it won't be an issue. Worst case I give him a time out to let the others establish. I'm hoping with the timidness and sex of the Flame and pintail on top of the fact the tank is empty the solon will be nice.
