Isnt the bottom one a derasa? easier I've heard, less light?(rumor?)

Yup i would agree. If going for one of the 2 kinds in a newer tank and as a 2nd clam id go with Derasa. Maximas are also rock borers so tend to move around ALOT

me no clue without seeing the shell. derasa are easier just looking at the mantle. What did ASD call it?

Ur last purchase :) even tho it didnt make it you learned some things in the process so now ur onto number 2. My beast is number one i was just lucky its still thriving.

Cant tell of the 3 pics whats what without seeing the shell. Im not good with identification of the mantle. But i know none are squamosa or hippopus or noae.

Dont quote me on this but top and bottom look like maxima and middle is something not maxima. The eyes along the frill of the mantle seem to be maxima but salty could be right and the bottom one might be derasa...

The bottom I know is a derasa, I just like yhe maxima's shell better
