Cleaning old tank

If it’s glass tank and was previously used, and then stored for longer than a year suspect the silicon may be shot.
Yes overnight with vinegar works great
 
If you need something to gently scrub glass, baking soda works and is natural.
 
What about acrylic? I've got a biocube that could use a good cleaning. Not trying to hijack.
 
Is it common for the silicone to go bad in storage? Is there something I should do before using it again? Yes it’s glass.
Only if it’s been previously used
