Hi all, I am currently planning my 300g tank for my new home build in North Carolina, I have been looking into flow, closed loops seem to be good, I was curious though, is there anyway to guarantee it wont leak, also where should I place my inlets and outlets?

I cant help with the specific question, but I can bump the thread to see if we can get you some attention.

When I had my last tank, dimensions 53L x 36w x 24D. I ran a closed loop with a reeflo dart, and ocean motions 4-way flow diverter. 2inch drain in center of the tank and 4- 1 inch returns in the corners. I ran some silicone around my bulk heads on my returns and drain to make sure it never leaked. The flow is unmatched if done right, I still have the ocean motions sitting in my garage!

One thing I've considered doing is what they do in homes: put a digital pressure gauge on it. In a closed system, water pressure is constant. If there's a leak, your pressure drops and you can alert on it.

I think ultimately it's not at any more or less prone to leaks than any other pipe work. But I'm a fan of redundancy.
