with these two soft corals. The guy at the lfs said they were toadstools that open up huge but at the store they were closed up and he said they just did that because a crab walked all over them. I decided to buy them because they werent too expensive. They have been in my tank for a week now and havent opened up but have little polyps that are out all over them. They even seem to be sagging and I don't know what the problem is or if they're even toadstools. What do you guys think?

They do look like some type of leather. Lot of blue in your pics so it's kindve hard to discern but pretty sure. How's the skin on em?
I know leathers shed from time to time and some extra flow helps speed up the process. What kind of flow are they in?

Also, how are your parameters and visual appearance of other corals? Does everything seem to be okay ?

Everything else is doing great even my two sps frags. perams are all good and well within range. The one on the rock i moved to a little higher flow to try to see if that helps speed the molting process and that was the one with more polyp extension....the other one i picked up off the sandbed to move and it like desintigrated! Idk what the heck was wrong with it... maybe the coral was half dead when i bought it???

Yeah you may have just received a specimen that was in trouble; however, if you do see some polyp extension on each of the pieces I'd just find a good spot with some good flow and observe. You probably can nurse it back to its prime no problemo:)

can you post pic without blue, hard to see? it's common for them to closed up for few days
After work when the blues are more washed out with whites ill take another pic. And yes nex I moved the smaller toadstool right under my pp8 wavemaker and it seems to be doing better than before so hopefully any day now it will open up
