Okay. Newish tank here. 180 gallons. Few fish. Just a coue corals - frogspawns. Trying to push the limits with alk/mag/calcium to 11 dkh / 1400 mag / 450 calc

Right now im just u der my alk with 10.4 and a bit over my mag and calc at 1500 / 480

Im trying to get the parameters right before adding coral and ill dose as needed keep them as steady as possible. For dosing i have a kalk reactor and a calcium reator (not dosing). I test for alk and calcium multiple times a day.

Problem is that once i stated dosing soda ash, the tank just looks milky. I dosed a little calcium chloride yesterday to get my calcium from 400 to 450 and overdosed a little bit. I was dosing 75ml from my calcium reactor up until this morning when i noticed my mag was climbing too much, which is why i stopped it. I have some mag rock in there ill take out today. I was using the calcium reactor trying to inch my way up to where i want to be, but it wasnt really increasing too much over a week period, so i decided to dose alk/calcium separately.

My question is this: is this something that will go away or will just stick around with higher parameters? Im not noticing any participate build up on anything right now. Corals are happy and fully out.

I dont think its a bacteria bloom. Tank is very clean and i actually have two UV sterilizers running. Jts definitely not detritus or particulates frim sand as its a bare bottom tank.

Appreciate your input!

If this is just a bacterial bloom then just leave it, it will pass on its own after a week or two. Water changes will make it last longer so the solution is to do nothing except maybe add an airstone, the bacteria bloom depletes the oxygen. Good luck

Yeah - not planning on doing any water changes any time soon. Don't think it's a bloom though.
