Cloudy Water

Relatively new to this hobby, maybe a year at it. I have one 75 gallon tank full of Cichlids that has been cloudy for over a month or two. I have been adding new water to the tank which now I know is wrong. I am leaving it alone now to see if it ever clears up?

Not sure what you are using for filters but cichlids dig gravel, move rocks and when tank is overfed/overcrowded and up to the filter to keep up with the fish load.
Siphon more often and add lake rift salt to water (malawi or tanganika salt)

Try a uv sterilizer. Probably a bacterial bloom. But without a picture and water test parameters it’s hard to say.

Of course! I just wanted to make sure before I start throwing out suggestions. I’ve never done freshwater and I’m not sure what type of equipment they use :P

Theyre like Oscars, jack Dempsey, etc but african species

Welcome! Sounds like an algae bloom to me as well. Are fish showing signs of stress. Gasping? Etc

I have 2 canister filters running on this tank, an FX4 and an FX6. They are not helping at all. I have read to leave the tank alone without adding fresh water and it will clear up on it's own?

Canisters with amount of fish you have should be serviced every 3-4 weeks. Change at least the pad, best being foam rather than floss and Carbon which is a must 6-8 weeks and add bio media such as ceramic beads.
Consider also a hang on Power filter which will entrap minute particles contributing to cloudiness. Is the cloudiness milky or green?

I have carbon in the FX4 and buying an inline fluval clarifier hopefully that will work
