Looking to add Firework Clove Polyp to a softie tank. Totally fine with whatever happens in this small tank. It shares a sump with a large display tank. Is there a risk of it taking over the DT or is that more with "blue" ones?

Thanks in advance.

I have some on it’s own little island. A arm extended and attached to a nearby rock so now it will spread there. Grows pretty fast.

Only the small blue ones (Sarcothelia) are the invasive ones. The larger ones usually just called "clove polyps" (clavularia) are not very closely related. Clavularia grows much more slowly and is also one of the easiest to trim back. Literally you can just pull it off the rock in mats and cut it back that way.
