Clown fish problems

BROOKYNELLA!
I have a question if I have contracted brook in my breeding system and did a formaldehyde bath (at 0.2ml per liter for an hour) on the effected fish and have been feeding the others with Dr G's Anti Parasitix Rx frozen how do I eradicate the parasite without killing inverts, live rock, ect.
Will not having a host cause the parasite to die off ?

Yes, going fallow for 6 weeks will starve brook out of a system.

Ok so I probably should have mentioned that this system holds 10 pairs of breeding clowns and I can't really go fallow I was able to give the visually effected ones a bath and have been feeding the other with the RX food. I'm running a planted fuge and have some snails and blue legs plus a live rock filter so I can't really run some of the harsher Chems in the system, copper will also negatively effect the clowns and possible cause them to stop breeding all together what should I do besides remove the fuge, inverts, rock then dose the system ?

I would just remove the clowns. I get that there are quite a few of them, but I'm sure if you put your mind to it, you'll figure out a way to do it. Give them a formalin or Ruby Reef Rally dip, then transfer them over to the QT. Leave the system fallow for 6 weeks. Other than that, I don't see a way to get it done. Reef Rally claims to be reef safe so maybe you could just run that through your system.... it has acryflavin in it which is good for treating brook. But I like the going fallow option best here.

Is the parasite guaranteed to host even with the food as medicine?
Will giving them the bath plus food keep it suspended and potentially die off ?
This is my first time dealing with any dessease I've been very lucky since I started in 2002 and try to practice good habits

I dont' think the food will eradicate brook. I've never seen it work 100% and we've tried it at the store several times. Each time I had to treat another way to heal the fish.

Metronidazole supposedly will eradicate brook, but I don't know how well it works with rock/sand present.

Good question. That's going to take some creativity. I'd say your going to need several containers as QTs. Maybe totes, or small plastic containers. I'm sure I can find an example for you. though it would be up to you to figure out how to make it work.

I would do both. Rally dip then put them in QT. If you can't QT at all, then try to rally the whole system. OR try the Metro Humble mentioned. The last time i had a brook outbreak at the store I used rally and metro to get them better. Took a while too.

Sorry, I read something that humbledfish posted about a similar problem and recommended general cure it is metro it says it's not safe for inverts and live rock so I'm assuming my macros/fuge won't be either, but yes some sort of container system inside a tub/bin would be a good idea.
But since I didn't plan for it and don't have anything to seed bacteria any suggestions there ?

You could go with sponge filters that are air stone driven.. one in each container. Soak the sponge for a couple hours in a bottled bacteria product like Stability, Seed or even Turbo start by fritz.

General Cure contains both prazi + metro. However, you can also buy metro as a standalone drug: http://www.seachem.com/metroplex.php
