Hello,
TL;DR; New Clown Goby is hiding and won't come out to feed, is this normal and how long can it last for and is there any point in time when I should start worrying more?

Got a Citron Clown Goby from one of my LFS, they do QT, so I don't QT, they run about 1.022 salinity, and I run 1.026. I know, I should probably QT as well, but I trust them and have had no issues with the other fish I got there, in fact, they are doing amazingly well.

I received my fish on Saturday and drip acclimated him with another fish at the same time, same acclimation procedure. When I got up to 1.026 salinity (water temps was the same too), I got him in the tank and he was pretty active to start, but since last night, he has burrowed in a cave and now is nowhere to be found.

I've read that Clown Gobies like to hide and perch, but I've also read they are really good feeders, and it seems like they really love feeding.

I don't have Acros nor plan on putting Acros in this tank, so I don't have any natural corals for him to hide in, I do have a lot of cave space, and he's made a cave within a cave by digging out a spot under the main large cave I have.

My tank parameters are all good, and my other fish are doing great, even the new fish (Lighting Maroon Clownfish).

Does anyone have experience with new Citron Clown Gobies and is this normal-ish behavior?

How long does it take for them to become more social and start really feeding?

I do have a good supply of Pods in my tank, and I dose Phyto, I've seen some posts where they will eat Pods, but not sure if that is accurate.

43g Cube with about 48G total tank volume, taking into account the rock and sand.

Any info or advice is greatly appreciated, I probably worry more than I should.

Start them off with frozen cyclops or newly hatched baby brine shrimp. IME these are the easiest 2 foods to get picky fish eating and then you can graduate to other foods.

IMO a new fish should be eating by the third day.
